Designing and producing stairs requires both experience and the right solutions. For Habo Trappindustri, the Staircon software has become a crucial part of the business. With it, the company can work faster and reduce time without compromising on quality.
“Staircon has been a great help to our production as it saves time and increases our capacity”, says Jan Englöf at Habo Trappindustri.

Smooth design and production with Staircon
Habo Trappindustri is an excellent example of how a smaller staircase manufacturer can streamline both design and production with the help of Staircon. By using the software, the company can quickly produce drawings, production documents and ensure high precision in manufacturing.
The company was founded back in 1927 by Axel Svensson, grandfather of the current owner Jan Englöf. Over almost 100 years, the business has developed from classic fine carpentry to focusing entirely on specially designed stairs. Today, the company is run by Jan together with his nephew, and production takes place with modern machines at the company’s premises in Habo.
Today, Jan designs the stairs in Staircon and exports the production data via the add-on module “Export DXF”. These files are then further processed in the postprocessor connected to the CNC machine, which enables fast and precise manufacturing of the stair components.
“Going from drawing stairs by hand to working in Staircon has been a major development for us. The software has streamlined our entire process – from design to production,” says Jan.
CNC machining without a full-scale CAM solution
By using the Export DXF module, Habo Trappindustri can work with its CNC machine without a full-scale CAM installation.
“Export DXF is an incredibly good alternative for stair manufacturers the size of Habo Trappindustri. It enables efficient CNC machining at a significantly lower investment than a complete CAM solution would require,” says Jens Karlsson, Staircon.
With the help of Staircon, Habo Trappindustri has been able to modernize its production and increase its capacity. A clear proof of how the right tools can contribute to the company’s development and success.
