A Sneak Peek Of The Future Staircon
To make our customers’ business as efficient, productive and profitable as possible, we are constantly developing our Staircon software for stair design and manufacturing. We currently have a big focus […]
For over thirty years, stairs have been manufactured by Harrie Botter in Kerkenveld, the Netherlands. In recent years, the next generations of stair builders have taken on a more important role within the company. They are investing heavily in the future and the automation of the production process is a necessary part of this.
“We have followed the development of the wood working industry and seen that more and more machines are controlled digitally. We wanted to keep up with the times and had been thinking for for some time about investing in a CNC machine. In a period when we where low on staff and had difficulty recruiting, it turned out that buying our first CNC machine was necessary,” say Nick and Lisa Botter.
A CNC machine was purchased, along with the CAD/CAM software Staircon for designing stairs and controlling the CNC machine.
“We have a long-term relationship with our machine supplier. They are very familiar with our company and how we work so they could recommend which CNC machine would suit us best. We chose the Staircon software because it is user-friendly and provides direct control to our machine.”
“We used to design our stairs manually with pen and paper. We had expected that the switch would be complex, but in the end, it went quite smoothly. The switch from ‘by hand’ to ‘on a screen’ was very easy”.
“Because the machine and the software are quite new to us, we still have some minor difficulties somtime, but we can always count on the support from both our machine supplier and Staircon.”
